Principals usually ask…
How much does it cost the school?+
Nothing for the 2025/26 season. NDSL covers drones, coaching, refereeing and travel grants to regional tournaments. From 2026/27, an optional annual partnership fee applies.
How many students can participate?+
Each school fields a squad of 8 (5 pilots + 3 reserves). We recommend a wider 'flight club' of 20–25 students so more can learn.
Is it safe?+
Yes. The drones are enclosed in carbon-fibre cages, fly under 25 km/h, and matches are played in netted indoor arenas under a certified referee.
What space do we need?+
Roughly 12m × 18m × 4m high — a standard school hall, indoor basketball court or covered assembly area.
Who runs the practice sessions?+
An NDSL-trained coach runs the first 6 weeks. By week 6, your STEM lead is certified to continue.
