NDSL's competition programme turns pilots into problem-solvers by putting real engineering challenges inside real competitive pressure. Players don't just learn about drones — they build them from individual parts, then fly, break, fix, and improve them under match conditions. Every combine and fixture is also, quietly, a hands-on engineering bootcamp.

That combination is deliberate. Nigeria has no shortage of talented young people — what's often missing is a structured, competitive space where technical skill gets tested, sharpened, and rewarded in real time. Pilots assemble their own competition drones from individual components — motors, frames, flight controllers, batteries — and learn exactly how each part depends on the others. That understanding becomes essential the moment something breaks mid-match.

A Full-Contact, High-Pressure Sport

Collisions are part of the game. Frames crack, propellers shatter, connections shake loose on impact — and battery charge only lasts a few minutes per set, so managing power is as much a skill as flying.

The Five-Minute Repair Window

Between sets, teams must diagnose whether a fault is mechanical, electrical, or software, fix it, and get their drone back to competition-ready — all before the next set starts. There's no extra time for a difficult diagnosis.
